Pakeman School

Pakeman School is a primary school for pupils between the ages of 2- 11 years old, located in the borough of Islington. The school currently has around 330 students and prides itself on its holistic approach to a child’s development by focussing on more than academic performance.

The Summary

Unfortunately, Pakeman school were experiencing several issues with their managed print solution and were seeking a partner that was able to offer high standards of service as well as a cost effective solution that met all of their print requirements.

Like most school cost was of critical importance for Pakeman. The previous provider was expensive, and a lack of print management software was leading to hidden charges that Pakeman were unaware of and struggling to afford.

During the pandemic, their print management partner had been sold to a manufacturer that differed to the machines that Pakeman had and it was no longer in their interests to offer high levels of customer support to the school because they no longer had a vested interest in the kit that they had installed. It was clear that the previous print partner was also not fulfilling their service obligation.  They did not respond to issues on site for several days, leading to delays and hold ups that were unacceptable for the busy central London primary school.

Pakeman also required reliable equipment that could easily keep up with demand and user-friendly experience for all members of staff.

The Solution

Right Digital Solutions were delighted to be awarded the managed print contract by Pakeman school and immediately conducted a thorough analysis of the site, team requirements as well as a full review of the pain point of the previous solution. It was of critical importance for the account management team to listen and understand what Pakeman wanted to achieve following their negative experience of their previous managed print partners.

The previous solution was no longer fit for purpose and prone to issues that had a knock-on effect and caused unacceptable delays. This meant that the high costs associated with the solutions very difficult to justify. RDS installed a mixed fleet from two manufactures. These MFP machines are known for low running costs and reliability. In combination RDS installed cutting edge print management software to provide Pakeman with full transparency over their print output and spend.

Rule based printing, including automatic double sided and default black and white printing, was enabled which helped keep costs low. This allowed the management team to have full analysis over departmental print output and control this accordingly.
